Sliceseeding is an excellent low cost alternative to our other more extensive
seeding options. A slice seeder is a machine that cuts furrows into the existing
lawn and seed is dropped into these furrows. The lawn is done in two directions
so that the new grass can fill in any bare areas in the lawn. Sliceseeding works
very well under most circumstances but you should keep a few things in mind
before choosing this as your alternative.
Sliceseeding does not correct any present problems with your lawn that may
have caused you to lose your turf density in the first place. Some problems
may be uncorrectable, such as wear in high traffic areas. These types of problems
may require periodic reseeding to keep them looking good. Other problems, such
as insect, disease or drought damage may require action prior to reseeding.
